Finley was a member of the Green Bay Packers from 2008-2013 after the organization selected him in the third-round of the 2008 NFL Draft.  Finley had been one of the better tight ends in the NFL prior to 2013, when he suffered a season ending spinal injury six-games into the season.  Finley had 25 catches for 300 yards and a touchdown in 2013.

Finley underwent spinal fusion surgery in November and though his condition is still suspect, he is expected to be cleared for football-related activities within the next few weeks.

Finley expressed just before the Super Bowl the he would be interested in playing for the Seahawks.  If the two-sides agree to a deal, he will attempt to help the Seahawks improve the league's 26th ranked passing offense and try to bring another Super Bowl to Seattle.
